Tell All Tuesday

Someone mentioned that it’s “Tell All Tuesday” today so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to come clean about a few things.

So my “pretty preparation” and personal hygiene habits have taken a dramatic shift as I have entered the toughest weeks of Ironman training.  Cannot tell you how many people have commented on all my “new” freckles the past few weeks.  Well folks, these freckles are not new.  What you are seeing is the real Heather without ANY makeup!  Nothing to tone them down.  Sadly, I have not been on any exotic vacation in the hot sun on the beach….just spending time in the basement of my health club and out on the roads at 5am-8am or 8pm-10pm.

In the past 24 hours, I have showered 3 times…due to 3 intense workouts.  However, last week, I went an entire day without a shower after a 3 hour workout.  Seriously disgusting. Hope that was not the day you were standing next to me in line at the grocery store. LOL.  And if it was, I am so sorry.

And then there was the workout without a sports bra….well, not exactly. I forgot to bring a clean sports bra with me one morning and I happened to have a not-so-clean one in my bag from the day before….so I turned it inside out and used it for my workout. And thankfully (in case you were wondering) that was a day that I had time to take an extra long shower (7 mins in stead of 5 mins) after my workout.

I have not eaten any more oldie moldy protein bars from the bottom of my car so that’s a plus.

And that’s probably way too much information for most of you to handle on “Tell All Tuesday.”

But for those of you who have been following my Ironman journey closely, thank you so much for your support and the worst of it will soon be behind me.  And once again you will be able to welcome “prepared and pretty” Heather back into your life…..with just a few freckles and mostly clean clothes.
